Bestiaries came into prominence in the middle ages. These lavishly illustrated books were filled with animals both real and imagined. The authors and artists who created these works made no distinction between actual creatures and those of legend...they only sought to use their symbolic weight as means for biblical allegory and moral instruction. So the dragon and the snake became Satan; the Unicorn and the pelican alike became symbols of Christ. 

In keeping with the lore and tradition of these illustrated tomes, our idea is to create our own modern day bestiary. This is where you, the artist comes in...
